Profiles host Mickey Burns interviews Latin singing sensation George LaMond in this 10 minute episode teaser. Currently reveling in the success of his latest release, a cover of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin.'" LaMond has continued to bridge the gap between the American pop market and the Latin market, and has a large following in both. In his three decade career he has placed numerous songs on Billboard's Hot 100.
LaMond, who is of Puerto Rican descent, grew up in the Bronx and got his start in the music business as an American freestyle singer. In the early 90s LaMond's songs lived at the top of the dance-pop charts. Hits such as "Bad of the Heart," "Look Into My Eyes," and "Without You," all found top 10 success. Always evolving, in 2001 LaMond released his highly acclaimed salsa album, "GL" on Sony Records. He recently said, "Salsa is a tradition," it's also the foundation that got him interested in music in the first place.
Taped in 2010 at the chic restaurant of Ashford and Simpson's in the heart of New York City.
