This has always been one of my favorite Country songs, even way back when not much Country landed in my playlists. I’m a huge Garth Brooks fan and If you’ve never heard the story about how Garth heard Savannah Georgia’s Tony Arata, the songs original writer, playing the song at the Bluebird in Nashville TN and fell in love with it, well then you should go look it up. I fell in love with it the very first time I heard it as well and it’s an honor to play it hundreds of times a year for amazing folks who have that connection as well!
