Adieu, EU: UK celebrates exit from the European Union

The United Kingdom has officially left the European Union as thousands of British citizens and Brexiteers gathered outside Downing Street to celebrate the end of Brexit.

The exit marks the end of the UK's 47 years pf membership in the EU.

Leader of the Brexit Party Nigel Farage attended the event with members of his party.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted: "Tonight we have left the EU - an extraordinary turning point in the life of this country.

Let us come together now to make the most of all the opportunities Brexit will bring - and let’s unleash the potential of the whole UK."
