How to Increase Brand Awareness Through Digital Marketing?

The biggest challenge the businesses face every single day is obscurity. They are not found, they aren’t visible, and their potential customers just don’t see them as they are going through their buyer’s journey. And of the most crucial questions every business owner needs to ask is how can I increase brand awareness? In this episode of Digital Marketing 101, I’m going to give you a couple of tips you can use right away.

Before making any purchase, every customer goes through the buyer's journey. This is the so-called path with three main stages - the awareness stage, the consideration stage, and the decision stage. It’s important to know this as a business because there are probably millions of people that need what you do, but they don’t know you exist. And if you don’t create content that will attract them to your website, they never will. This is the first and most important stage - awareness.

Other people that already know you may be considering their options, so it’s also essential to help them make the decision and demonstrate your advantages over the competition - that is a consideration.

Finally, the smallest percentage of people that know that you’re good at what you will still need a little nudge to finally ask you to solve their problem - that is the decision stage.

So if you are not getting enough customers, you shouldn’t be worried about closing more sales or getting more leads. What you really need to focus on is increasing brand awareness. You should be thinking about how much content you need to create to let the world know that they have this problem? How much content promotion you need to do to let the world know that you exist?

Brand awareness should be the #1 priority for every business and the biggest of brands get it. Think about it. Everybody knows McDonald's and Coca-Cola, they've been around for dozens of years, but they are still working on their brand awareness, whereas the smallest of brands don’t.

Brand awareness drives everything. So how can you increase it as a small brand on a limited budget?

Use the Pareto principle – 20% of what you do drive 80% of the result. Figure out what your 20% is and do more of it. Another thing you can do is spend 20% of your budget on creating content and 80% on promoting it. The most efficient way to do that would be social ads.

Stats says that only 3% of the people in the market will ever buy your product or service. So everybody’s metrics are driven off of that 3%, leaving 97% of people in the dark. Your job as a brand is to make sure that your potential customers are problem aware, solution aware, and provider aware so that they know that someone can help them fix their problem when they are ready to buy - and it'd better be you.
