The American public knew what we were seeing was curated and even fraudulent, mere sleight of hand; but we accepted the illusion...because we wanted to live vicariously through the stars. In return, Hollywood agreed to keep their opinons and most of their degeneracies to themselves. For 80 years, it worked. Then social media came along and the curtain was pulled back. Instead of the curated image, we got the raw truth, which included their feelings about us, the viewing public. America's breakup with Hollywood commenced. Is this a good thing? Can the old compact between the stars and their fans ever be restored? Let's get into this.
