La lettera “g” in italiano può avere due pronunce differenti a seconda delle lettere seguenti.
- Si pronuncia /g/ (come nella parola inglese “girl”) quando è seguita da “a”, “o”, “u”, “hi”, “he” (es. regalo, lago, guanto, funghi, spaghetti).
- Si pronuncia /dʒ/ (come nella parola inglese “jelly”) quando è seguita da “i”, “e” (es. Germania, magico, valigia, gioco, giugno).

- It is pronounced /dʒ/ (like in “jelly”) when followed by “i”, “e” (e.g. Germania, magico, valigia, gioco, giugno).
