SPN's Brooke Medina joins the Scott Jennings Show to break down NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani's budget proposal and what it means for New Yorkers and American taxpayers nationwide.

Mamdani ran on bringing rents down, but his proposed 10% property tax hike would do the opposite. Property taxes are a regressive tax, and those costs inevitably get passed on to renters, hitting lower and middle income New Yorkers hardest.

And it is not just a New York problem. Up to 55% of New York City's revenue is subsidized by American taxpayers across the country through federal aid and grants. NYC's proposed budget is already $10 billion larger than the entire state of Florida's budget. Rural Americans are footing the bill.
