The BEST Braised Pork Ribs & Mushrooms 排骨燉蘑菇 CiCi Li -Asian Home Cooking Recipes
Braised pork rib and mushrooms is a very homey Chinese dish. Watch this video and learn how to cook it in just 1 minute!
3 tablespoons of oil
6 pieces of ginger
2 stalks of scallion
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 pounds of pork ribs
4 cups of water
6 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 tablespoons of dark soy sauce
2 tablespoons of Shaoxing wine
Some salt
6 star anise
1 cup of dried shiitake mushrooms, soak in water overnight
1/4 cup of wood ear mushrooms, soak in water overnight
10 red dates
First in a hot pan, add 3 tablespoons of oil, and 6 pieces of ginger and wait until the ginger turns golden. Then add 2 stalks of scallion and wait until the aroma comes out. Now add 1 tablespoon of sugar and stir until dissolved (this will give a beautiful color to our ribs later). Introduce 2 pounds of pork ribs in the pan and cook for 5 minutes in high heat. Pour in 4 cups of water, 6 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of dark soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of rice wine, some salt, 6 pieces of star anise, 1 cup of soaked dried shiitake mushrooms, 1 cup of soaked wood ear mushrooms, cook in high heat till it reaches the boiling point then turn to low heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Occasionally stir. Lastly add 10 red dates and cook for 15 minutes.
