Stephen is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health and a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings, although liaison psychiatry is his main area of expertise. He was responsible for the education programme for Acute Trust colleagues. He currently teaches across various pre-reg and post-reg programmes, and he is passionate about teaching mental health to other healthcare professionals as this helps to break down stigma. His teaching and research interests are in suicide prevention, psychotropic medication, and sexuality in mental health.

This session will explore the importance of physical health monitoring of people with mental disorders. We will explore the prevalence of co-morbidity, the impact on the individual and society, and how psychiatric drugs negatively impact physical health.
