Ukraine’s first: Private contractor unit downs jet drone | Ukraine Brief

Russian forces continue striking civilian targets across Ukraine using bombs and drones. In response, Ukraine is strengthening its air defense by integrating private defense units under Air Force command to repel Russian attacks. Friday marked the first successful interception of a jet-powered Russian drone by one of the units. Meanwhile, in southern Russia, emergency services are working to extinguish a major fire at an oil terminal and refinery following a Ukrainian strike on Thursday.
