The Syrian President then visited Prince Charles on Tuesday evening.
Earlier in the day, the president's wife visited one of the prince's charity projects for young people starting
small businesses.
She toured Cockpit Workshops in north London, where the Prince's Trust offers new businesses premises on short-term rental agreements.
On Monday, Assad held talks with Prime Minister Tony Blair.
