After we made the hardest decision of our lives to split up and fly back to our home countries due to the Corona virus pandemic, Marcel has purchased a new van in Australia to build our new future home on wheels.

This is the sixth build episode of the series where I begin framing the van to lay the roof and the walls. The rood will be lined with western red cedar (9mm) and OMG it smells AMAZING! The walls are lined with pine as they are to be painted later. Watch to see my method of creating the seamless roof and wall for the van.

Once completed I will move into my van to join the van life movement in Australia, allowing me to live, and travel full time! I cannot wait to get out there and overland Australia 🙌🏼

Who are we?

We are Vendula and Marcel, an international couple from the Czech Republic and Australia who have been living in self converted vans around the world. We were days away from beginning the biggest journey of our lives (Van life South America) when the coronavirus pandemic hit Chile HARD. We made the difficult decision to flee but due to our home country's newly imposed immigration laws, we were not able to seek refuge in the same country and were forced to separate until boarder restrictions are eased, which at this point in unknown. We will be posting regular videos on this new van build process and specifically how to build a van in Australia. We have some BIG plans for this van so stay tuned!
