We took a trip to Mexico’s Magic mushroom capital, San Jose del Pacifico, to eat the medicinal "magic" psilocybin mushrooms grown there, and embark on a journey of profound introspection.

Some history: Before being dubbed “magic” and becoming the global phenomenon they are today, psilocybin mushrooms were considered as sacred by the Mesoamerican peoples of Mexico. Hallucinogenic mushrooms used in religious ceremonies were considered sacred and were called “god's flesh” by the Aztecs.

Best time of year to visit San Jose del Pacifico: RAINY SEASON - August to October. That's when the cultivation of fresh magic mushrooms takes place, so you'll have a better chance of procuring potent mushrooms.
