"Succeeding you…Father" is a sentence which marks a conclusion to the fall of Lordaeron. But this fall has nothing heroic for us to sing about, as Arthas does not simply murder his father. He rather annihilates a world that can no longer contain him.

This closing scene is a shadow-play of a chaos-distorted potential confronting helpless tradition. The son who could have been something else, and the king who represents a past already hollowed out.
