BIRTH VLOG: Finally meeting my baby 👶🏻 | Kryz Uy

The time has finally come. This is it, everyone. From announcing my pregnancy, telling my family and friends, finding out skybaby’s gender, and all the in-betweens- we’ve come full circle.

World, meet our baby, Scott Knoa Young.

At 9 months pregnant, I knew I would pop at any moment, but never expected things to happen the way they did. I’m used to peeing on the hour or getting weird contractions, so when I woke up to both on the morning of June 2nd, I didn’t think much of it. The only thing is... my water broke. And from then on, I knew it was game time.

My doctor told me to drive down and immediately go to the hospital. After eating a quick breakfast (your girl’s gotta eat!) we made it a few hours later and I was already 3 cm dilated! They admitted me into the private labor and delivery room, suited up Slater and the rest is (painful) history.

It was quick and relatively easy labor, considering I’m a first-time mom. They say it usually takes a while when it’s your first baby- but my cervix was just “go go go!” After 2 hours, I was 6cm (ready for my epidural!!!) and then shortly after, I grew to 8,9 and then 10cm and was ready to PUSH!

Giving birth to a baby is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but also the most beautiful, rewarding, and life-changing experience. All the pains? Worth it.

I was so lucky to have such a positive experience, especially after watching a million birth vlog horror stories on youtube! Tip for Expecting moms, don’t watch!!! My cheering squad, aka the labor and delivery team at CHH Mandaue, was the best ever. I felt comforted in the fact that I was in good hands and my baby would be delivered safely into the world. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who took care of me. Thank you to my OB, Dr. Tinette Mendoza, who knew exactly what to do and say to make me feel better. To my husband, for holding my hand and making sure I was never alone. And of course, to you watching. You inspire me to be the best version of myself, and I am lucky to have such an amazing #skyfam behind our family’s back.

We’re 12 days into officially being parents to Scott Knoa. We’re exhausted, sleep-deprived, challenged physically and emotionally- but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Scottie is the biggest blessing and joy in our lives, and we’re more than honored to be part of his. ❤️

To my dearest #SKYfam, thank you for always being here for us. You’ve supported our journey from the beginning and now Scottie has 400,000 aunties and uncles to pray for him and watch him grow. How lucky are we.

This is just the beginning, everyone. Excited for what life will bring.
