Can Driverless Cars save our cities from Cars? | Jonathan Cote | TEDxStanleyPark

For the past century we have blindly accepted cities that are primarily designed around accommodating the needs of cars. Designing our cities around cars have caused our cities to sprawl in every direction, disconnecting communities and dictating the spatial geography of the places in which we call home. In the coming years we have a unique opportunity to think differently about how we get from Point A to B. Driverless cars, the Shared economy and a renewed interest in sustainable forms of transportation, like walking, cycling and public transit has the power to reshape our cities around people instead of cars. If we have the courage to think and act differently about how we get around, we will also have to power to build more sustainable and livable cities.
