Thermal Anisotropy in Compressed Expanded Graphite
This video uses an acetylene torch to heat a composite block of compressed expanded graphite in the direction of compression and also heat it normal to the direction of compression. This is a great visual way to understand thermal anisotropy. If you listen closely during the discussion on intercalation you can hear what we believe was a great horned owl outside the workshop.
