Hi, I’m Tania Nelson with Cambro. Here to talk with you today about our new seal cover for our Cambro food pans. Our new seal cover has a full sealant flange on the inside. To have a full-contact, tight seal all the way around the pan.

So why does this matter to you? What it helps do is it seals out air and moisture, helping protect the food inside from cross-contamination and extend its shelf life.

In fact, we recently did a study on shelf life. Had an outside laboratory do some testing for us, observing pans of food: strawberries, tomatoes, and spinach over the course of seven days’ time. And compare them in an open container, a container covered with plastic wrap, and a container covered with foil, and then one covered with our seal cover. And observe them day after day to see how the food did under those conditions.

And what they learned was that the food that was covered by the seal cover (https://www.culinarydepotinc.com/round-translucent-food-storage-containers-lids) actually lasted and was servable 2-3 days longer than those pans that were covered by plastic foil or no cover at all.
