About this video:
Hi I'm optometrist Martin Oguzie, this video is part two of three videos on basic dry eye (Keratoconjunctivitis sicca or KCS) tips. In this video I use, arguably the best and most thorough research work on dry eye disease (DED) to outline the summary of causes for dry eye. It is not meant to be an exhaustive list of everything that can cause dry eyes. Instead, it is a systematic overview that will help us in part 3 of the series by better making sense for how dry eye can be treated scientifically and why some strategies may not have worked for you in the past. Sjogren's syndrome (or Sjögren's syndrome) is a common cause for severe dry eye and has a prominent part in the TFOS DEWS II study report. For this reason, sjogrens syndrome is an important topic for discussion.
