How did that one chick hatch out?

We had a mother hen hatch out a baby pheasant not too long ago and since then we have a problem... she hasn't been sitting on the rest of the eggs. Unfortunately she is not sitting on the remaining 6 pheasant eggs so I took them outside to see if anything had developed in them. The first egg had nothing at all, and unfortunately that was the story for the rest of them as well, but it was hilarious and startled me a lot whenever the one pheasant egg popped in front of me and made a loud sound. Thankfully the mother hatched out a little baby pheasant so we'll see how she does raising it.
