Blue Spaceship, Kodagu 2020

I mentored an 8th-semester graduating thesis project called 'Bluespaceship' at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design & Technology in 2020. As Susmita Mohanty , the co-mentor of the project, said, our earth is the Bluespaceship, and we are all astronauts. I travelled to Mangalore to experience rivers and estuaries, to the Western ghats for the forests and the mountains, organic coffee plantations and pristine (secret) rivers. It was in Jan 2020. Soon Covid hit us and disrupted our lives. We completed the project online, which was not the right way, but we had no other option. My students were brave, and many of them did some wonderful work. Here is a 'reflective' video from that project, shot in the beautiful Kumaran estate of Maria George and Nachiappan. I do hope the students, now practising professionals, will carry forward the message of Bluespaceship in their lives..
