Paul Gerber's Cal 41 - a wristwatch with switchable jumping/permanent seconds and triple rotors
Master watchmaker Paul Gerber from Zurich, one of the long standing members of the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI), created the Cal. 41 as his second completely in-house movement.
It comes with two barrels providing 100h of autonomy, a large date and Gerber's idiosyncratic multiple rotors. But this is not all: the central seconds hand can be switched to a jumping seconds (and vice-versa) via a push on the crown.
Only two such watches exist (the switchable seconds is an option, and usually is operated by a separate pusher).
It is exactly this 'bi-nique' watch that we are presenting in this video! The full article is to be found here: https://www.theeclecticum.com/gold-dust-paul-gerber-cal-41-the-seconds-in-your-hand/
