Pregame show segment on recovery of Bernard King, 1991

3-09-1991. King had a boost in ppg in 1991, averaging 28.4 ppg over 64 games, and played in the ASG, but unfortunately, the injuries bit him yet again, putting an end to it. He was a great one whose brilliance was cut short by knee injuries. Back in the 80s, an ACL tear was a major injury. Mitch Kupchak had an ACL tear in 12/81 and he didn't return to play until 1984 and he was never the same player, so everyone treated it as a death sentence and then Bernard suffered an ACL tear and a broken leg in 1985. As a scorer, he was probably the greatest and most accurate shooter from 12-18 feet at diagonal angles to the hoop on either side. And he was a great baseline shooter as well. At his best, he didn't have something such as "missed chippie" in his game. He was as automatic as they came.
