Arsenic is a toxic chemical element responsible for the deaths of thousands of people. How arsenic gets into the groundwater and what consequences it has for the population, you can see in this documentary.

Arsenic occurs in various compounds in the earth's crust and sediments. Some of these arsenic compounds are toxic. The arsenic leaches out through the groundwater, gets into the drinking water and poisons the population. There are over 20 million people affected, countless dead, and yet little is being done. With every sip of drinking water, they poison themselves more.

But arsenic is not a local problem for the locals, who can hardly avoid the arsenic in their drinking water, as in the Asian region.
Crops such as rice, which is ubiquitous in Bangladesh, can also accumulate arsenic. Almost all rice-growing areas are affected. Therefore, there is hardly any rice without arsenic. And it is also exported abroad.
