Let’s be honest… if you’re a fan of Anthony Jackson you’ll already know that he’s one of the most important (and insanely talented) bass players of the last 40 years…

He’s played with the likes of Chaka Kahn, Steely Dan, Mike Stern, John Scofield, Buddy Rich, The O’Jays, Pat Metheny, Wayne Krantz, and many, many more… hey, he even played with the Bee Gee’s.

And if that’s not enough, he was the bass player behind the development of the 6 string bass too.

I can remember the first time I heard Anthony Jackson (on the Michel Camilo Big Band Album, One More Once), and honestly my life and bass playing was changed from that moment onwards. His groove, time, crushing linear lines that he played in unison with the horn section… he blew my mind!

That’s why I wanted to create this mini-documentary about his life and his bass playing… to share the genius of Anthony Jackson with you.
