Dialogue on Nutrition at Food Pantries: Holy Cross Summer Research 2019

This summer, anthropology major Megan Hawke ‘20 has immersed herself in the culture and community at food pantries in Worcester and beyond. Hawke is conducting ethnographic research to explore how health and nutrition are talked about at the food pantries under the guidance of Daina Cheyanne Harvey, associate professor of sociology.

Each summer, over 100 Holy Cross students dive deep into cutting-edge research through the College’s Weiss Summer Research Program. Under the mentorship of faculty, students engage in focused projects that push intellectual boundaries and fuel their academic interests.
