Adaptive jaw vise 1
The space behind the yellow jaws is filled with numerous steel balls (in black).
As the jade slider moves forward to clamp the green workpiece, the yellow jaws move outward or into the housing to match the shape of the workpiece. The balls behind the jaws ensure that process.
The orange knobs help return the jaws to its original positions as shown in the final scenes of the video.
Actually, simulating the movement of a large number of balls is not easy in Autodesk Inventor. So here, instead of balls to control jaw movement, there is a hidden lever system like in the video:
