China spread the virus and 'pushed lockdowns' as the solution

The global consensus on nation-wide lockdowns changed when the virus came out China which "started pushing the lockdowns as the solution," which then saw the WHO quickly adopt the measure, according to James Morrow.

A 2006 paper by Director of John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Thomas Inglesby said the lockdowns as a measure to fight pandemics were extremely harmful.

"The negative consequences of large scale quarantine are so extreme that this mitigation measure should be eliminated from any serious consideration," the paper said.

Mr Morrow said the World Health Organisation "never gave this advice" to institute nation-wide quarantines.

"It all oddly changed once this virus came of China and China - very tied to the WHO - started pushing lockdowns as the solution," he said.

"Then WHO pushed that around everybody said 'Oh I guess we have to have lockdowns just like China'".
