Queens University announces plan to merge with Elon University

In a landmark announcement for North Carolina's higher education landscape, Queens University of Charlotte and Elon University revealed plans for a collaborative merger during a news conference Tuesday morning, marking what officials called a "historic day" for the region.

Queens University Acting President Jesse Cureton announced the agreement, describing it as a decision "grounded in the vision that is bold and amplifies the strengths of both universities."

Preserving legacy while building future
Cureton emphasized that the 170-year-old institution's core values would remain intact throughout the transition.

"The values that have defined us -- service and inclusive campus dialogue and innovation -- will continue to thrive while new opportunities are created for our students, our faculty, our alumni and future Charlotteans," he said. #News #Education
