Hunters reported missing in southern Colorado found dead

Two out-of-state elk hunters who were reported missing in southern Colorado near the New Mexico border were found dead Thursday, sources say.

On Saturday, the Conejos County Sheriff's Office responded to the Rio De Los Pinos Trailhead, attempting to make contact with two men who were reported to be overdue while elk hunting, according to a press release.

Andrew Porter of Asheville, North Carolina, and Ian Stasko of Salt Lake City, Utah, both 25, were in the San Juan Wilderness area west of Trujillo Meadows Reservoir when they failed to check in with loved ones at a predetermined time, the sheriff's office said.
