2 seriously injured after interstate sign collapse on I-77 South
Two people were seriously hurt after a crash late Friday night, shutting down I-77 South in southern Mecklenburg County, according to Medic.
Officials said it unfolded around 10:45 p.m. near the exit to Nations Ford Road when an overhead interstate sign collapsed onto a car, trapping the driver beneath the wreckage.
The Charlotte Fire Department responded to the scene and confirmed entrapment and began patient care.
