Isolate Electric Vehicle HV Systems - Green Pull Plug

Many electric vehicle manufacturers are using a green 'pull plug' as a safe way for emergency responders to isolate high voltage systems.

If an EV has been involved in a collision, this low voltage method will open contractors to the lithium-ion battery pack & drain all power down to the battery, making it safer for responders to work around the vehicle.

In this video our friends at Peugeot Australia show how to use the GREEN PULL PLUG LOW VOLTAGE ISOLATION METHOD to make EVs safer.

About the EV FireSafe research project
EV FireSafe is a research project aiming to identify the risks to emergency responders when attending an electric vehicle (EV) lithium traction battery fire, particularly where that vehicle is connected to energised charging. We are proudly funded by the Australian Department of Defence, with assistance from Deakin University. See more or get in touch at evfiresafe.com
