Thermal runaway is how all electric vehicle battery fires start. We want to help emergency responders better understand what's happening inside an EV battery pack before a fire starts...but that can be tricky to explain!

In this very short animation, we look at how an electric vehicle battery pack is constructed, what happens when one of the lithium ion battery cells is abused & what you'll SEE & HEAR if a battery is in thermal runaway.
