Cancer Alley: Environmental Justice, Governance, and Civic Associations | Siobhain Lash | TEDxTulane

Louisiana has become known for Cancer Alley; the name was given to an area that is located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans that is saturated with oil, gas, and petrochemical plants. This speech builds on the work of on-the-ground activists, non-governmental organizations, and civic associations are doing to achieve environmental equity. Siobhain Lash is a Mellon Fellow Ph.D. Student at Tulane who is a large player in the fight toward environmental equity, specifically regarding the state of Louisiana.
