Santur / Hammered Dulcimer, a demo of an over 3,500 year old instrument playing 3 historic songs

Enjoy Paul Siebert's live demonstration of the Santur / Hammered Dulcimer as he plays "Over the Waterfall", Beethoven's 9th symphony "Ode to Joy" & J.S. Bach's "Arioso" filmed at the Cherokee Ridge Runner's 2020 fall rendezvous.

The Santur is documented back over 3,500 years originating somewhere in Persia and has many names like the Santoor in the middle east or here in the USA the Hammered Dulcimer. The instrument was very popular in early America because of it's beautiful sound & its portability. And of course because you just can't load a piano up on a horse drawn wagon & travel over rugged country very easily. In fact pre 1850's the Hammered Dulcimer was far more prevalent on the frontier than the guitar!

Paul Siebert is a live preforming artist well respected for his multi traditional instrument mastery & folk singing, His showmanship envelopes you in the music taking you to a simpler & happier place. His ease while preforming, his creativity & ability to interact with the crowd is simply incredible. Things never get boring at a Paul Siebert show as laughing, joking around as he takes requests to funny stories about old western tunes during his performance.

Paul Siebert also preforms for a lot of occasions ( Yes, he does weddings too ladies!) If your interested in hiring Paul Sieberts for any event contact him at his website WWW.paulsiebertlive.com
