This song is one of seven composed by Sarah Kennedy and Dan Reynolds as part of "The Beloved" series. Sarah was inspired and uplifted by the poetry of Daniel Ladinsky, which came from his meditations on Hafiz. She decided to set the poems to music. "The Beloved" series is intended to bring listeners into a feeling of universal connection, love and kindness.

Biography:
Sarah Kennedy is a Montréal-based, Vancouver-born vocalist, songwriter and bandleader. As a performer is known for her light and smooth vocal tone, depth of emotional expression, and cunning humour. Sarah's tender and rambunctious musical personality is revealed in her diverse repertoire. She has performed in the Vancouver International Jazz festival and was interviewed on CBC's Hot Air for the 100th birthday of Ella Fitzgerald.

Her début album "Portrait" displays her strong connection to Jazz and Bossa Nova repertoire. Sarah's next album "The Beloved" will be released in Winter 2021 and features spiritual poetry about universal love captured in original jazz-folk compositions. She can currently be found doing solo performances at small venues in Montréal self-accompanied on guitar.

The poetry for this music was provided, with permission, by Daniel Ladynski. They were published in his book "The Gift" containing hundreds of beautiful poems inspired by his explorations of the Sufi master Hafiz.
