Australia halts border reopening over Omicron fears

Australia has paused its border reopening to international students and skilled workers for two weeks over concerns about the new Omicron COVID-19 variant. One overseas education consultant said he received about 20 queries from Singaporean students within an hour of the announcement. Currently, fully vaccinated Singaporeans can still fly into Australia, but they will have to be isolated for three days when they arrive.
