Philippines is in the Heart: Kumain Ka Na? (Part II)
Foundation for Philippine Progress presents:
Kumain Ka Na? is a web series showcasing culinary creators of Filipino delicacies including chefs, restaurant owners, community members, as well as our own Lolas, Titas, and Nanays.
Filipino food is a labor of love, the flavor-filled union of history and tradition, geography and resources, family and culture -- a love as vast and far-reaching as the Filipino diaspora and deeper than the oceans it has crossed. The phrase “Have you eaten?” in all the country’s 180 languages is synonymous with “I love you.”
Engage in a community conversation not just about the taste of Filipino food, but the ways in which it transcends time and location, bringing people together, weaving influences from an archipelago of more than 7,000 islands. Through this series we hope to learn more about our rich tradition of Filipino cuisine amidst a backdrop of dire hunger and poverty that continues to impact our homeland.
