Grafting Stockinette Stitch Bottom Up AKA Kitchener
This video is a demonstration of grafting Stockinette stitch fabric when working from the bottom up in a unidirectional fabric, worked flat. Also known as kitchener stitch. This is useful to use when you want to lengthen a fabric from a point within the fabric rather than at one end or the other. It is also useful for connecting a cast on to a bind off edge when using live stitches. It is also a precursor for knowledge when working a graft in other fabrics, such as k1p1 ribbing, k2p2 ribbing, garter stitch, seed stitch, cables or any other patterned fabric.
The illustrations that I use for this video were produced by André and Françoise Monerau. Thank you André and Françoise.
