Refurbishing A Slip Tank And Fill-Rite Pump
I bought a slip tank and pump that had been sitting for a while. I cleaned the tank inside and out, painted it, added a drain bung, and installed a proper vented cap. I disassembled the Fill-Rite 15 GPM pump that was rusted solid. I was able to clean the pump out, and got it working, but ultimately ended up replacing the worn out pump. I installed a fuel filter, hose with swivels on either end, and an auto shut off nozzle. I used an existing 7 way trailer plug in the box to power the pump. I added an inline fuse, and a male 7 way plug to easily connect and disconnect power. I also installed an aluminum tool box on top of the fuel transfer tank.
