Today I spoke with Kelly Pearsall, a fellow YouTuber who runs the channel "Godless Granny." We talked through her story of coming to faith in Christ but fully deconverting later in life as the truth claims of Christianity fell apart.

We touched on many topics, including:

• Growing up in a family environment that was a mixture of Catholic and agnostic.
• As a teen, struggling with the purpose of life to the extent that she contemplated suicide.
• Trusting Jesus as her Savior and starting to get plugged into a church.
• Reading the Bible cover-to-cover for the first time and starting to attend Bible studies.
• Facing the loss and trauma of a stillborn baby and poor medical treatment.
• Being told by a pastor that feeling distant from god was her own fault.
• Experiencing a "close call" with a bad car accident that almost happened but sensing angelic protection.
• Finding a way to get through seasons of doubt by setting up the Bible as the bedrock foundation of her worldview.
• Observing extreme patriarchy and misogyny in church leaders.
• Being told that childless women are worthless.
• Being very impressed with the pseudo-intellectualism of Calvinism.
• Deconstructing her perspectives on LGBTQ issues.
• Learning more about science and history to the point of becoming skeptical about the stories in Genesis.
• Wrestling with the issues of divine hiddenness and eternal conscious torment.
• Realizing that since the Bible had been her foundation, and it was flawed, that her faith and worldview foundation was false.
• Fully deconverting from Christianity and realizing that everything she had believed about god had only ever been in her head.
• Developing her "Godless granny" platform to speak up about the cracks in the foundation of the Christian worldview.
