Cemetery Preservation Basics for Proactive Preservationists
In this virtual program Jason Harpe, Director of Cemetery Conservation, Richard Grubb & Associates, Inc., will deliver an illustrated presentation on the basics of cemetery preservation, best practices, photography, documentation, and fieldwork experience that could prove invaluable to grassroots efforts undertaken by individuals, families, non-profit organizations and larger scopes of work considered by churches and local governments.
Melissa Timo, Historic Cemetery Specialist with the NC Office of State Archaeology, will also briefly explain the state historic cemetery recording program, and discuss resources and avenues available to assist with cemetery preservation and research efforts.
