How To Switch Between Minor And Major Blues Sounds - No 3 Fret Rule!
One of the biggest factors in blues soloing is the idea of combining the major blues and the minor blues scales on your guitar.
There is no shortage of ways to accomplish that, but one of the most common (and most troubling) that I see is the old fashioned "3 fret rule."
While you CAN get a major sound by lowering your minor sound by 3 frets, it's a horrible way to view the fretboard because you are looking around the wrong root. So my students play this way and wonder why it sounds bad.
Instead, focus on the actual root and change boxes. If you need more help with that and how to actually do it, you might really like my Major Minor Blues Shapes course which can be found on the Blues Guitar Unleashed Course Catalog at http://bluesguitarunleashed.com/course-catalog/
Enjoy the lesson and I hope it's helpful to you.
