My New Rolex DayDate 2 Presidential!!! WOW.This Dial cost me a Batman GMT!!

I just made the latest purchase in my watch collecting journey! It was a big stretch…But only because for what it was!

Thank you for tuning In I’m Watch.Eric. Today i am going to be discussing the latest acquisition to my watch collection.
So over the years my collection has changed. I have added new stuff, then at times I have just wiped it mostly all out and started all over again. But this particular watch has been wit me the whole time. My beloved Rolex DayDate2 in 41mm. So I believe that everyone should have in there collection if possible a DayDate. No matter the size. Whether its the 36 or the 40 or even the 41, a Presidential is a must have to any watch collection. So every one has a different Dial option that they gravitate towards. Some like more the black or the lighter dials. While others like the classic champagne roman. I like to call it the “Tony Soprano”. The thing is that Rolex has several options for the DayDate 218238. And the one that has always got my eye is the hard to get version that brings the baguette diamonds markers with the rubies on the six and nine. Watch collecting is a journey and throughout this process I have finally had the chance to buy the the very sought out after champagne dial with baguette diamonds and rubies, and here it is.
Let me just say something about these dials. They ain’t cheap. They go from $10k-$15k. This particular dial option will take your Presi from the $30k range to $50k. Yes it makes that big of a difference.
To me it was the closest thing to my all time favorite Rolex Presidential. Which is the Rose Gold DayDate2 with the black dial and rubies and baguettes. So when i saw the opportunity. I took it!
It’s crazy to think that I payed the price of a Rolex Batman for a watch dial. It reminds me of the time that I traded two watches for a dial a while back. I traded a Corum Bubble skeleton and a Breitling Chronomat 44 for a mother of pearl with ruby indicator dial for my Rolex Yachtmaster 40mm in yellow gold. At that time it really hurt to do that but on the long run i am glad that I did. Those watches went down in price and the dial still remains a solid $7k.
So the question is, what it really worth the price of a Rolex Batman GMT for a DayDate2 dial.
