Vegan Pop Tarts / Simple Recipe Using Easy To Find Ingredients

Check out this easy vegan pop tarts recipe using Biscuit Spread and Dark Chocolate. Using vegan products found in supermarkets in the UK which makes this such an easy, quick snack to make

The written recipe is below, but just to explain that Biscuit Spread is now available at most supermarkets in the UK, sometimes going by the name of Biscoff. It has a smooth peanut butter consistency, and for that fact, if you cant't find it just use peanut butter...it is almost as good. Just mix a little maple syrup into it to make it sweeter.

Ingredients
One sheet of Shortcrust Pastry
50g Dark Chocolate
Biscuit Spread
Approx 1/4 Cup Plant Milk

Method
1. Roll out your pastry and devide it into three strips.
2. Dollop some biscuit spread onto the top half of the strips of pastry.
3. Chop your chocolate into small chunks and sprinkle them on top of the biscuit spread. Remember to save some for your topping.
4. Brush some plant milk on the edge of the pastry around the filling.
5. Fold the bottom half up and press down with your fingers.
6. Using a fork, crinp the edge of the pop tarts.
7. Glaze the top of the pastry and poke a couple of holes in the top.
8. Place on a baking tray and bake, gas mark 6 for 20 to 30 minutes or until the top of the pop tarts turn golden.
9. When ready, allow to cool before adding the topping.
10. In a bowl mix two tsp of the biscoff spread and a dash of milk and mix. 11. Keep adding splashes of milk until you achieve a thick sauce consistancy.
12. Spread the sauce on top of each pop tart then add a sprinkle of the chocolate on top to finish.
13. We ate these for breakfast and it was such a nice treat for us. Enjoy :-)
