This horse had been shod by another farrier in the area. The individual who had shod her was very careless with shoe fit causing some of the nails to be well inside of the white line. The horse (and the other horse she had shod) became very lame. I was called in and removed the shoes and relieved the abscess, had her boot the horse and treat the area for a few days. A few days later I returned and re-shod the horse. She has been sound since.
