How To Build An Intel NUC Mini PC - Adding RAM Memory and NVMe M.2 SSD Storage To A NUC8i3BEH

In this video I'm revisiting another Intel NUC and also another NUC8i3BEH. This time I'm showing how to build an Intel NUC Mini PC with a Samsung EVO 970 Plus 250GB NVMe M.2 SSD for storage and a couple of 4GB DDR Sodimm memory modules by Crucial.

I personally think that the 8th Gen NUC is the sweet spot so far, especially the i3 or the i5 versions. The one I'm using is an i3 which is the Intel® Core™ i3-8109U Processor which is a dual core with four threads. The 8th Gen NUC series also has the excellent Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics 655 iGPU or integrated graphics processor, basically a GPU graphics card.

As mentioned in the video I've already tried out the NUC with Chrome OS. This is proper Chrome OS as found on any Google Chromebook and not Chromium OS. Chrome OS also allows runs with many apps from the Google Play Store just like a typical Android device. Chrome OS is awesome on the NUC and game play is fantastic. I suspect this is mostly due to the Intel Iris Plus 655 iGPU.

I also tried a couple variations of Android-X86 with the NUC, Phoenix OS and Darkmatter. As with Chrome OS, Android on the NUC is awesome. Android-X86 is basically a port of standard Android that's designed to run on X86 CPU architecture, such as those CPUs by Intel and AMD. Android usually runs on ARM processors.

A quick run with Windows 10 on the NUC was also great. While the NUC flashed through typical day to day PC stuff, web browsing, emailing, YouTube, streaming video from Netflix etc. streaming audio and typical office type stuff. I suspect the this NUC would also be good for some light video editing and music production. I'll try it with Edius soon which is the NLE I use and also Cubase which is a DAW and music production software.

I'll post some future videos of this NUC setup once I've give it a good hammering :)
