#𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧: In many African traditions, everytime a person receives a 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 initiation, their name will get #longer. (At least in Isese). Your name has #meaning and #purpose. Your name #identifies the 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙚
of the relationship you have with either your #Orisha and or #Egbe (Soul Group), also your other titles you have received.

You don’t just get a made up name and you don’t get to #choose it either🙃. Your name just gets longer. It’s not an #IdentityCrisis, but in fact, the contrary... It #identifies who you are in #Heaven, and your #destiny here on Earth!

The thing with your birth name is oftentimes in this society, when we were born, we didn’t do things 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘆 by getting your destiny read and knowing who your guardian angels are that walk with you and to give you a name with meaning and purpose! So ceremonies are sort of a #rebirth kind of like in the Bible when #Sarai’s name was changed to #Sarah, Jacob changed his name to #Israel, Your 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 changes because your destiny has been #shifted!
