I didn’t use a glove on this recipe to put my energy into it. Just make sure your body is cleaned, and hands sanitized.
RECIPES 📚

SALT FREE BLACKEYED PEAS

2 packs of presoaked or frozen black eyed peas
1 large onion , diced
1 cup celery , diced
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 chopped bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped okra
2 teaspoons fresh thyme
1 bay leaf
4 teaspoons Mrs. Dash Salt free seasoning
1 tsp. cumin powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup brown sugar
Unsalted meat (optional)

Rinse dry black-eyed pea beans and pick through and discard any foreign object. (I did not have to do this because I used the package beans,). Add beans to a large pot covering with 3-4 inches of cold water. Cover and let sit for about 2-3 hours.
In a large, heavy sauté pan, saute the onions, celery, bell pepper, garlic, thyme and bay leaf and saute for about 3-5 minutes, until onions are wilted and aromatic.
Drain the soaked beans, rinse, and place the beans in the pot. Season with Mrs. Dash and cumin seasoning and to taste. Mix and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to a simmer and cook, uncovered, for about 20 minutes.
Throw in optional unsalted meat continue cooking for another 10 minutes or more, stirring occasionally, or until beans are tender and slightly thickened to your desire.
Add more stock or water if the mixture becomes dry and thick, the texture of the beans should be thick, somewhat creamy but not watery.
Remove the bay leaves.
Taste and adjust seasonings adding more if need be. Serve over cooked rice and garnish.
SALT FREE SOUTHERN FRIED CABBAGE
2 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion chopped
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Mrs. Dash seasoning to taste.
1 large head of cabbagechopped (about 10 to 12 cups)
1 teaspoon Onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon white pepper

Slice or chop cabbage and set aside
In a large skillet add oil and onions over medium heat, sauté onions until translucent then add the garlic
3. Add paprika , Mrs Dash seasoning and optional unsalted meat. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent any burns.
4. Add cabbage and bring to a sautee, cover and let it cook for about 15 minutes or more depending on preference.
