Inside an Ebola outbreak | 60 Minutes Australia

In 2001, 60 Minutes made a risky trip to Gulu, Uganda, to report on the heartbreaking reality of an Ebola virus outbreak. The highly infectious virus can easily spread between humans through direct contact with blood and body fluids, and in the three months of the epidemic, there were 425 suspected cases and 224 deaths.

Last week, the Democratic Republic of Congo declared a new Ebola outbreak - three years since the country's last one.

There are currently 28 suspected cases and 15 deaths, with the World Health Organisation saying infection is still ongoing.
